Conditions We Treat

Since transitioning from paper records to our SHARC digital clinical system, as at the end of 2025, we’ve welcomed 1,331 dogs into our hydrotherapy and rehabilitation centre. This growing dataset gives us a powerful, real‑world picture of the patients we support, the conditions we treat most often, and the breeds that benefit most from structured canine rehabilitation.

Our case studies draw directly from this evidence base, showcasing the breadth of our work across orthopaedic, neurological, fitness, and mobility‑related conditions. These insights help owners, vets, and referring professionals understand the impact of high‑quality hydrotherapy and rehabilitation on canine health and recovery

Who We Treat Most Often

Across our 1,331 SHARC‑recorded patients, the top five breeds we saw were:

  • Labrador Retriever – 235 patients
  • Crossbreeds – 210 patients
  • Cocker Spaniel – 83 patients
  • Border Collie – 68 patients
  • German Shepherd – 66 patients

These breeds reflect national trends in both popularity and predisposition to orthopaedic and neurological conditions—making them frequent candidates for hydrotherapy, physiotherapy, and structured rehabilitation.

Why This Matters

These statistics shape the way we design treatment plans, tailor rehabilitation protocols, and support each dog’s long‑term mobility and wellbeing. They also allow us to share meaningful, evidence‑based case studies that reflect the real challenges dogs face — and the real improvements hydrotherapy and rehabilitation can deliver.

Our Case Studies page brings these numbers to life through individual stories of recovery, resilience, and transformation.
